It's that time again, with a lunar twist.

The moon was very bright last night on my flight to Changsha. Tonight it's off to Sanya down by Vietnam and should be one hell of a bright moon. I do hope to see a few really bright meteors too. Some years the conditions are just right for a very nice show.

Very bright and clear here as well--an eerie landscape as the pastures are illuminated and I can even see my red cows bedded down across the way.
A few distorted jet contrails are clearly visible stretched accross the sky

Forgot all about the meteors but I had planned to go out and take pictures during the full moon. Then just as the sun set a band of clouds rolled in and they're only just now clearing at 8AM. Stupid Illinois weather!
