A F-14 Tomcat in Canadian AF colors? It almost came to pass.

Of course it never happened, but it would have been cool to see the Tomcat in Canada.

Iran became the only operator of the F14.

Have fun reading it. (I thought it was good reading anyway) It even shows the Canada symbol with the "Tomcat."

My first "big boy" job was for a small defense firm that made spare parts for the military. I found an old box in the warehouse that had a nice sticker proclaiming the F-14 Tomcats of the Royal Iranian Air Force. This was 1980. Now I know why that box was never shipped. I carefully peeled off the sticker and tried to save it, but it didn't come off very well. I wonder if I still have that squirreled away somewhere?

Back on topic, what did the Canadians fly instead of the Tomcat?

Yeh, back in the 80's it was pretty common to show them the door.
