So, Massachusetts SWAT teams are claiming private corporation status to duck open records policies. Yup, nothing scary as hell about that.

So that will put them under the same fire arm ownership, transfer, carry laws and restrictions as the rest of us. I suppose we can legally shoot them in self defense too! Lawyers should have a nice field day with this.

That's what I was thinking. If they're not part of a state or local police force, then they're not law enforcement officers. They're mercenaries.

So if someone sues them it shouldn't be "covered" by the county/state. The legal costs should come out of their own pockets.

Also, the fancy equipment that the Police/Sheriffs have been getting lately can't be used by them, neither can badges, department guns, or any other private Police department equipment. The Corporation needs to provide for itself.

I wonder if a bunch of guys around here would like to start their own corporation....
