One of my kids called--another (I think) texted me "Happy Father's Day! Love ya" but I didn't recognize the number it came from. Such, is modern communications.

Wife is taking me out to eat steak later today.

Shouldn't eating steak be an every day occurrence for you?

One would think so but Not really--they are worth too much nowadays at sale for me to eat them, but even if without that aspect, not having to cook it or clean up afterwards is a rare and enjoyable experience.

Happy Fathers Day to all you fathers. My father taught me how to work, use basic tools, what is right, but not to speak French.

I have raised more then a few kids.
Not one of them wishes me a Happy Fathers Day or remembers my Birthday.

My life-long desire to be invisible seems to have come true.
Be careful what you wish for...

Happy fathers day to all that have tried to be the best fathers they know how to be.
My father chose to leave us before I even knew I needed one.
Not due due circumstance, but by happenstance.
I have tried every day to be the man he wouldn't be.
Perhaps not the best father, but the best I could be.
I wonder sometimes now if he felt the same.

I had a great day. I slept in till 8am. (that is sleeping in for me) We skipped church because we were just too tired from throwing my son a big graduation party, yesterday. I changed a heater core on the Fiero. (I enjoy working on cars) I took a 3 hour nap ( I enjoy naps) I got up and enjoyed a modest supper (I enjoy food) and have veg'd around my new fire pit for a couple of hours. (I love fire) No one nagged me or even acknowledged it was Fathers Day until about an hour ago. I'm good with that (seriously it doesn't bother me at all) When the s**t hits the fan though, they know my name.

Jim

. Went to a science center with my boy. Took a gondola ride over the river. And bought and built more Lego's. Yeah, love was present.

There are some great dads on this forum.

No child could ask for more or expect more, and no parent could ever do more than that.

Took my father to his father's house, they drank martini's and smoked cigars, and I did some yard work for Grandpa (his favorite thing in the world, supervising yard work). Then we just sat outside in yard chairs and talked. They wanted Chinese food for dinner, so I went out and bought it and brought it back. Afterward drove Dad home. Pretty good day.

My Niece actually got me a card and a box of Chocolate Covered Macadamia Nuts!
In the card she wrote "To a great Uncle and second Dad."

So much for invisible....

Woo-who!!

Happy, "I would have settled for a BJ" day right back at all the great baby daddies out there. Sorry I am late. Better late then never though...

We had a BLAST!

Lets see. Took my son to work! His first job at 14 yrs old!! Rode my Gixxer all morning. Went home and finally got the boys ATV back up and running after much cussing and a few thrown wrenches. Picked my son up from work. Went riding out in the woods. Son on his ATV, me on my dirt bike. Son crashed it on a bank turn he took to wide. Whacked his manhood pretty good. Spent a few minutes telling him to "hop" around till the pain goes away.

Then here is the best part... Took my son Caleb shoe shopping! And here is where it gets good, he paid for his own shoes! WOW! Can't wait to see how that plays out.

Then mashed home for a bon fire and BBQ. Bounce house and tent for our 5 year old daughter. She is high maintenance. Oh yeah and internet for her Leap Pad Ultra. Wifi and all... WTH? Wifi for a 5 year old?

Then finally after the wee ones were sound asleep I cracked a bottle and let my body waddle! I got drunk like a white girl!

I had an AWESOME, "I would have settled for a BJ" day! Hope all of yours was great!!
