We talked about this over 3 years ago, and I got one that was great at first, but soon started acting all crazy.
Is there a model that is reliable?
What other hardware could I use instead, to do the same thing? Except for the weekends, I'd like to leave it on 24/7 (on a table next to my desk at work). It would be dedicated to photo slideshows and nothing else, so it can't be terribly expensive.

At this point in the game i would just get a cheap tablet and a stand. Those dedicated frames seem to have such small screens for what they are.

You work 24/7? ( turn it off when you go home for the day... )

I should have said 24/5. But I do want to leave it on when I'm gone (again, except for the weekends), because I work evenings and there is (almost) nobody else here at this time to appreciate all my Fiero pics, or pics of my kids, etc. But day shift folks might swing by and check it out.

You're right, a cheap tablet might be the answer. Thanks.

Oh, for a cheap stand look into one of those little 'business card holder' things. i use one for mine when i want to reference a color PDF at the office, and its perfect for it. its small, cheap ( so if it vanishes i'm only out a couple of bucks ) and since mine is metal its adjustable for desired angle.

Or get one of those Sony things that is a bit thicker and runs apps. I forget what it's called, but it's pretty good, we use one to show the weather and time and whatnot. I'll edit this rely with the name once I get home.
