At 1:49 pm ET on Friday, the Central Intelligence Agency sent its first-ever Twitter message, from a verified account with the simple handle of @CIA.

With characteristic secrecy, it said: "We can neither confirm nor deny that this is our first tweet."

With more and more IT companies attempting to make it eve more difficult for intelligence agencies to pry, what better way for those agencies to further their agenda than infiltrating social media openly?

As opposed to the NSA, whose tweets would most likely say "We already know what you're going to say..."

How about "If you read/follow this Tweet we will have to kill you".
