Since we all seem to share love for 80s styling... I thought you guys might like to see a Miami Vice era water cruzer.

1987 Bayliner Cobra 2250
completely restored/modified (obviously not original restoration) inside and out
bored and built GM carbed 5.7L

Need to get some gauges like this in a fiero!

Enjoy!

Kinda tough to fish out of this type of boat... my (very young) kids enjoy sitting in the bay any fishing off the swim deck though. We have a good sized river (Missouri River) that runs right through town here. Sort of a neat environment because there are literally thousands of homes on the man made bays and 4 dockside bars/restaurants accessible from the water. And nice sandy beaches and sandbars. Dont have to travel long distances to get on the water. We will occasionally get off work, grab the boat, drop it in the water and go for a cruise, stop for dinner/drinks and pulled out and home before dark. Good times!

Very cool!

I am a big fan of boating. I have owned several in the past, and do miss it. That Bayliner was a really great boat back in the day. She looks really good to. Nice to see someone take care of things like that.

I have a RAYSONCRAFT SKI-DRAG BOAT
it had a hemi with GMC 6-71 supercharger on alcohol making about 1500 hp
ran 150mph in the 1/4
but that was pulled to make a hemi-cuda
but still has the drive train V-drive and water cooled shaft log prop ect
of a race quality boat
so I droped a MB 5 banger diesel with turbo in it
much slower but I have no need to go fast on the water
and the diesel tork will spin the prop at 2500-3000 vs the hemi at 8000
but with minimal fuel use

I am an advocate for taking care of everything, no matter how old, how small, or what condition its in. Seeing this being instilled in my kids too.
Some people think I waste time polishing turds, but I guess thats why they call it a "hobby"

I grew up with a boat and on a lake, then got into jetskis for about 10 years, but now with kids this is our first boat and we love it.
On the topic of polishing turds and old watercraft; Here is a couple pictures of the only jetski I have left. completely original 1976 Kawi 440.

Ha! My friends don't call it a hobby when it comes to me. They call me OCD. I so can agree with polishing a turd. Used boats are soooo much better than new ones.

One thing that I do miss is taking couples and friends out to dinners on the boat. Just a great thing to hit the lake, pull up to a dock, and just enjoy a great meal on the water. It has been about a dozen or so years since I had a boat, and it is on my bucket list for the future. Enjoy it. The kids will be little rock stars when you take a friend or two of theirs out for tubing.
