Can he be called a racist for telling the truth ?
The saddest part about it is that the truth is so obvious. It would be called a clue, except for the clueless.
The black Americans who do get it are among the best Americans existing. They need to give back (the knowledge) to their fellow black Americans, as they will not listen to "Whitey". The ones who do get it, likely know they will be degenerated, called Uncle Tom, etc.

I don't think its clueless, but afraid to speak up, that has caused this to go so wrong. No One speaks up to say its not their right.... Its politically incorrect to tell someone of a non white race, they don't deserve welfare.
Yes their are the few that I have seen and am proud to call my friends. I have nothing against a race of any kind, however I do hate people that act in some racial ways. (The letter said something about being taught to be Black... what does that really mean.)

The lack of response to this post I think goes to show just how afraid people are to admit that they might agree with the letter for fear of being called a raciest. Its sad but true. If this was something against a given religion it would be 10 pages long by now.

My professional experiences can provide no argument to the author's observations.

It's sad and shocking. I'll have one of our clients read this (a former public prosecutor) and give me his view (he's a Jewish liberal and very outspoken and straight forward).

I must admit that experience has taught me that if I have a new client leads to follow up on and either accent or name suggest a black person, I now only give it the minimum time required because I have learned that there's a 90% chance that it will go nowhere. There's very little dedication, consistency or even seriousness (and we're not talking about criminals here!). It's sad but based on personal experience over several years now...

I don't know that I would put all blacks into the bundle like he does. I have worked with and been friends with several black men. They basically had the same values as I did. Sometimes they reacted differently to circumstances which I can somewhat understand since most of them were close to my age and would have seen and been affected by the overt racism prior to the defeat of Jim Crow laws.

Then there are the people who act/react like he has documented. Government largess's have corrupted them. Just as it says in the national parks don't feed the animals because they become dependent, so it goes with people. Unfortunately we are corrupting the same way other races including the whites.

How do we solve this? I don't know how we can in this political climate, without some major changes. We somehow need to get back to the idea that there are consequences for your actions or even better for your inaction. If you don't work and are able we should help for a short time, but it cannot be forever. You have to feel the negative consequences of your actions or you will not change.

Do I think we will change soon? No! We have too many politicians of both Republican and Democratic stripes who depend on being reelected by giving your and my money away for programs to help the poor, the disadvantaged, the minorities and etc. They buy their votes with taxes extracted from those that work. Eventually we will run out of other people's money and it will all collapse, but who knows when.

Just think what will happen when it does collapse. Especially if this lawyer is correct in his assertions that most or many blacks have no empathy for others. This is the description of a sociopath. And a sociopath is not concerned with anything other than his/her wants and needs.

It's a good thing this guy doesn't own a basketball team.

He's a public defender and is commenting solely about criminals or suspected criminals. This leaves out the large majority of black people by default, I guess.

I don't know about the "disease" part, but growing up in an underprivileged neighborhood is pretty damn traumatic. Opportunities are not plenty for these children. I do not call BS on this.
