Dan is our real MMA fighter here, and NO I am not picking a fight with him. I would be a 3-hit fight. My boot goes into his groin, his fist breaks my jaw (thats 2 hits) and one of us hits the ground (thatst 3)
Being guys and the way guys are, the looser buys the beers, and no we aint gonna hug, just say sorry to each other. (DAMN, DUDE...steel toe to the balls HAD to hurt. frackit, it was just a bar fight)

The 3-hit fight I always knew was while you're waiting for me to show up to the fight I'm hitting the pipe, your woman, and the road! 3-hits and I'm outtee!

No. The rule is the same. Never let go of the shovel and give your enemy a chance to use it on you, ! Of course that is not rule #1. Rule #1 is to win.
There were never any rules to street fighting when I was a kid, granted that was at least 30+ years ago but hey I'm an old man.
Yeah, but we never threatened to go get a gun, B.B. or otherwise. We never took to knives or shovels. The most was maybe pick-up a hunk of wood laying around.
We knew you could kill someone with anything else...
Not too bad of a fight as far as fights go. Some dummy felt they needed to be right!
As small as I was, I was willing to take a beating. By the time I was these girls ages, nobody local would fight me because of how I overly dominated a guy much bigger and older than me with hundred of witnesses. Today, if I feel I have no choice but to fight you, I make sure I have a tarp because I feel no need to go to blows with anybody. I will call you smarter, better looking or most whatever you need, I just do not care that much and I never did.
You call that a street fight? I thought you grew up in Alaska, not the Hamptons. Now, I'm not very street savvy, but when I think of a "street fight" this is what comes to mind...

That sounds more list a fisticuff duel than a street fight. There are rules, whether spoken or not. To my mind a street fight has no rules. The goal is to win by whatever means necessary and if that means killing your opponent, so be it, because they'll do the same to you.
I respect a time when two people could agree to settle differences with their fists. A person knew when he was beaten and stopped. Likewise, the victor would only keep fighting until the loser surrendered. Shake hands, and then go get a beer. That's more like a gentlemen's duel than a street fight.
Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman were in a street fight.

I think we grew up in different worlds Boonie, I got a beer bottle smashed across my face in a street fight, still wear a mustache to hide the scar. Carried I knife since I was 10, Buck knifes usually but never used it in a street fight unless someone hit me with something just as if not more dangerous.
PS I only got 4 stitches, the kid how hit me with the bottle still walks with a limp. I broke his knee backwards with a kick, never did pull out the knife.
edit to add I was 15
Steve
