"SAN FRANCISCO, Apr 29, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- As employers try to control rising healthcare premium costs, their employees will continue to pay more for healthcare plans and face higher deductibles and copays, according to a recent survey from Wells Fargo Insurance , part of Wells Fargo & Co /quotes/zigman/239557/delayed/quotes/nls/wfc WFC -0.04% . The survey of more than 70 insurance companies nationwide found that overall claim costs will continue to increase in the high single digits next year, a strong indication that employers can expect to pay higher rates.

“Employers are exploring all available options to maintain and improve the health risk of employees, mitigate cost, and maximize their benefit investment,” said Dan Gowen,
...
Wells Fargo Insurance has conducted this biannual survey since 2008 to measure national healthcare trends. Reflecting claim activity over a six-month period, projected increases in the national average cost of claims include the following:

•Health maintenance organizations (HMO) – 7.5 percent

•Point-of-sale (POS) – 7.7 percent

•Preferred provider organizations (PPO) – 8.3 percent

•Consumer driver health plans – 8.6 percent

•Exclusive provider organizations (EPO) – 8.9 percent

•Indemnity plans – 9.5 percent

•Prescription plans – 8.6 percent
....
“We’re finding that employers are considering private exchanges and defined contribution strategies to manage rising costs,” said Nick Allen, national practice leader for Actuarial Services with Wells Fargo Insurance. “Defined contributions strategies are often just shifting cost to employees, and private exchanges are an option, but may do little to change health care utilization behaviors. Product innovation and consumer engagement remain critical in creating a culture of smarter health care spending.”

There is a difference between loving one's country and hating one's government.

I suggest a course in reading comprehension. You have never seen me allude to that. Perhaps I have not made myself clear to you.

It allows one to show one's teeth.

It feels strong, in-control, superior.
It makes big problems seem only a matter of singular testicular fortitude.

To hear some tell it, they could run the whole country better, and single-handedly to boot....as if it was as simple as knowing the in's & out's of running a country store.
As if they would be the only good smart honest men in politics...

I would love to give those that "know better" the free-hand to fire everyone and clean house.
And then fill it again.
Only over time to watch it repeat itself again & again & again.
Because that is the very nature of the system us.

Nobody wants to be told what to do.
Our system is all about telling people what to do.

Our only protection against it?:

Granted (and continually reinterpreted/rewritten) by men.
And there's the rub...

I'm old, all my life I was taught to fear the Communists, now the modern day Democrat party has become the Communist party.
I sure feel bad for all our men who died in our wars to protect our liberty and now this complete pile of crap party has taken over.
The biggest enemy the United States has ever faced is the Democrat/Communist party.

You are absolutely right. That's why our system was designed with checks and balances. Checks and balances that have been subverted, diluted, and abolished by Progressives through the years.

Again, I agree completely. Our *current* system IS all about telling people what to do. It didn't start that way.

That's the problem. Those who blithely accept it are part of the problem. They sit back smiling in smug submission; content in their superiority, while waiting for master to come feed them and pet them. They can stay curled up on the rug at master's feet. It's where they want to be. They get what they've asked for. The irony is the ones that complain because they never realized that's what they were asking for. The rug was for other other mutts. *THEY* wanted to sleep on the bed.

Reality will hit them like a rolled up newspaper.

Why have others tried to change it so far from what it was?

We've gone from a capitalist society to a corrupt capitalist society--with a large dose of socialism to boot. We've allowed ourselves to change our core so much that instead of focusing on the individual as we started out, we now focus all out efforts on redistribution. And I'm not strictly talking about wealth.

I love my country for what it brought to the world. The entire concept of creating value for yourself. Individuality. Identity in self. I hate our government for how large and complicated it has become. I hate the overwhelming trend of the past few decades to redistribute everything from wealth to opportunity.

Not many other countries would allow me to express my beliefs and campaign to change the country's policies to reflect them. That's why I'm here. Why would I leave, when there is still hope for this country?

I'd leave if there were a place that offered me what I desire. There isn't. So I'm going to back Cliff up in that our government is a big pile of **** that has just gotten bigger and bigger and nobody seems to want to start cleaning it up because then they'd acknowledge the problem. Some here are more than willing to pick up the shovel and start cleaning, but the way our system is set up, we have to trust representatives to do that for us. But the general populace doesn't want to pick up a shovel, so they're going to push that responsibility on to the next generation and just ride it out. I don't like that. I don't like that at all. We aren't going to get anywhere if we don't vocalize how shitty our system has become. How corrupt we have allowed ourselves to be.

You think we hate our country? We aren't the ones trying to constantly change it from where it was. We're the ones trying to stop the ****ing train from hitting the brick wall.

Thank you Brennan. Thanks also to 2.5, rbell2915, heybjorn, V8 Vega, Fats, and pokeyfiero.
Brennan, you almost hit it spot on. Don't get me wrong, everything you said is true. You just didn't go far enough. I also hate the America that allowed (voted ... both sides of the isle) it to happen, as well as the America who just don't care (which likely described me when I was young). I hate the subversion of the press. That some choose to ridicule the conservative press is reprehensible, as it is the only check and balance to out right propaganda.
I also didn't go far enough in my response to teabaily. He is old enough to remember that the present regime and it's party have many members who "hated" America when they were young. They were the ones protesting, some (Bill Ayers) bombing government buildings. A tactic they still use today. Helped in part with astro turf union thugs.

It's like this ... this is the country I choose to conquer.
You should know that demographically, with my personal circumstances, I would statistically be thought of as a Democrat. As far as the ones likely to vote Dumb.
