Does anyone know if Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra) is still doing shows? I really love The Zoom Tour on DVD.
He is one of the few I still really want to see.
All I could find:
Interviewer: "Have you had any more thoughts towards possibly doing some live shows, perhaps to support the new album?"
Jeff Lynne: "There’s always thoughts. I do think of it. That sort of thought lasts about two nano-seconds usually in my head and it’s gone again. [Laughs] But I haven’t given up the idea of doing it. I may well do a couple of shows somewhere, but I wouldn’t promise anything!"
I don't see a lot of shows any more, tickets are just ridiculously priced. Steely Dan is coming and I was all excited until I found out nosebleed seats were over a hundred bucks. Same for Fleetwood mac and a few other bands. F-that. I balk at the 40-50 average ticket prices, not a chance in hell I'm paying over a hundred for anyone.
I *really* wish Jeff beck would come through here. I saw him open for Tull a bunch of years ago and he just owned the show, and absolutely amazing performance, just him, some young girl on bass and his drummer. Man, it was fantastic. He hits the states but seems to only do a few shows never near me.
You just named a few more I would like to see. B.B. King in a small venue would also be a must-see..
Meh. I saw BB several years ago, it was a blues jam with Kenny Wayne Shepperd and some others. BB was awful. Zero energy, it's like he was just practicing. I was actually joking about this last night with the guy I'm going to Buddy Guy with. BB was like, "Yeah, here I am playing "The Thrill is Gone" again for the zillionth time, and yes, the thrill really is gone." It's the only song he can do with any feeling any more. His awfulness was only eclipsed by Pearl Jam that same year.
Lot's happened! I'll tell you more when I get outa' jail.
No, no, I'm just still kinda' out of it.....haven't quite touched-down yet. Rockin' & rollin' is a lot tougher then I remember....and the dime-pieces have some how become museum pieces!
