A 16-year-old suspect armed with two knives allegedly went on a mass stabbing spree today at a Pennsylvania high school before he was tackled by the assistant principal, according to authorities. ... At least 20 people were injured after the stabbings inside the school at the start of the school day, emergency management officials said.
So far no deaths, which is great news. At least four described with "serious" injuries. Someone pulled a fire alarm to get everyone out of the building, which seems a smart option.
Good, the ban something statement is out. I carried a knife from Jr High on. Nope, not a single stabbing. I hear that the kids can not have a plastic knife without risk of being expelled.
It's a shame that the school did such a poor job of educating the boy. If he had understood his God Given Rights under the Second amendment to the constitution, he would have known that he had the right to carry as many loaded guns as his allowance could buy. Then instead of merely wounding a few kids with a knife, he could have killed them. And maybe killed a teacher or two to boot! GUNS always make any situation better, right Cliff? Right, NURB? GUNS! GUNS! GUNS! GUNS! MORE GUNS!! We love our guns and more guns in the hands of more people are even better! GOD GUNS bless America!

Clearly, the education system did fail this boy. If the system had been successful, he would have been well adjusted and confident. He would have been better equiped mentally to handle his problems. He would have had a safe place to turn for advice and mentoring. He might have felt comfortable in reporting parental abuse, shower rape by the coach, bullying by the upperclassmen, having witnessed his mother being beaten by her boyfriend, etc. Whatever his "final straw" was. All the stabbings are terrible, no doubt about that but what about this kid? Was he a born sociopath or was he a tortured soul? I don't know the first thing about him but these are just a few thoughts that came to mind as I sat and wrote this out.
His right to carry guns would have probably been hampered by his age. I doubt he was old enough for a carry permit in PA. On the other hand, if he DID posess a carry permit, he would have known the law forbids carrying on school property and would have understood his responsibility to society while going armed. Does anyone know the percentage of unprovoked shooting deaths which were perpetrated by citizens who had a current and valid carry permit? I'll put money on "very low", if that's an option on the board.
If he had the benefit of the above referenced school resources and an education on firearms safety, etc, I think you would have seen a much more well-rounded personality and a valuable member of his community - and about 20 fewer wounded children.
Wave the Bible around and shout " amen " when you get to the end, Neptune, then pass the plate. That sermon gets 'em every time.
Damn. I forgot about the the Bible. 'Cause it says right there in the Bible, somewhere near the back of the Book, I think, that God created guns because he liked to watch humans blow the shite out of each other. My bad.

You just took me back 40 years to when my Mom would put me to bed with that story! Ahhh, the memories!
Why would you attempt to change the story into a discussion of guns? This is a sad commentary on violence, not the weapon used. Being a Troll takes away from your argument.
Where are all of the anti-zero tolerance people when it comes to knives at school?
As far as this incident is concerned(and every other such incident), I'm a big believer in personal responsibility. Regardless of the situation, nobody has a right to do was this perpetrator did. I pray they try him as an adult.

I should have read further. Thanks for reinforcing my observation.

I get the jist of your post, and I won't get into the gun debate here. I will say that some of the wounds were pretty serious. I received this in an email today from an anesthesiologist who is in my Bible study:
quote
I would like to request that the group please take time to pray today for one of the young stabbing victims from Franklin Regional that I had the opportunity to care for today. At only 16, he had to be rushed to surgery in order to undergo a lifesaving procedure during which he lost approximately 14 liters of blood (to put that into perspective, the average adult has a blood volume of 5 liters).
Some were cuts and scrapes and bruises, but some were definitely life-threatening.

Now tell me how many people outside the perps died in the North Hollywood shootout, despite thousands of rounds being fired from full auto weapons, and remind me how many died in the mass china stabbing.
Its not the weapon, you know this, its the skill with the weapon. And, the bit about shooting is easier to kill, is a lie and you know it. Exactly how hard is it to stab? Not very. Shooting actually is a developed skill that doesn't come naturally.
Just wait till people like you have their way, imagine these idiots using swords and axes. Wonder what the kill wound ratio will be then....

Clearly you have learned nothing from your years here at PFF O/T, . No, guns do not automatically always make things better in any situation. They do however come in mighty handy in a knife fight, .

Parental failure. A person can be incorrectly wired from the factory, but it is ultimately the parents responsibility. Too many other distraction in this world to worry about a young, impressionable soul. Sad all around.

Very true, Tony, and sad that it isn't the first thing people realize. People would rather blame everything else.

You must be reading the Uhlanstan Limited Special Edition Bible.
BUT.... But..... But.... Don't MORE GUNS and MORE Bullets make every situation better? Wouldn't the outcome of this event have been better if everyone in the school were carrying loaded weapons? After all, a couple of knives are just as deadly as a loaded GUN, right? A nut with a knife is just as dangerous as a nut with a gun right? Oh, wait. He wasn't able to kill a lot of people because he didn't have a GUN. he only had a knife.

You're just a helpless moron. Keep trolling. You'll eventually get the reactions you want.

Keep proving my observation by posting your idiotic remarks. At least its mildly entertaining to watch you, but if you are trying for comic status, don't give up your day job.
Its already started. Court shows are all talking about he a a good kid, good grades, gets along with others well, never been in trouble and hes been bullied all thru school.......
