Is there a way to do this? For some reason, my mind is blank tonight. My son plays online games and every once in a while, he calls me over because his icons change to the Chrome icons. Tonight I have uninstalled it twice from his computer. I know that flash player, shockwave player, and some other players bundle it, but I always uncheck the boxes.
Anyway, I hate that program and Google's nosiness in everyones affairs so how can I automatically block future installs of Chrome? Would I need to simply add an exception to my virus software or block Google all together?
Tho i cant say what will happen to Google, but my system is hardened enough for that. It most likely will flake out *during* the pulse, but wont self destruct unless you melt it.. ( which is a different problem ) And a lot of telecom equipment is now too. EMP wont cause as much damage as most people think it will these days. Times have changed. You can thank Osama for that.
i had let a friend use my account on chrome do to some youtube surfing and channel checkups, and when i came on to get on my account, well...lets just say google might be throughly disturbed with some of the things he watched I.e. japanese commercials/music videos.
Oh, i would also recommend looking deeply at the installers, they seem to be getting crafty with the add-on installers/downloads
1.Start --> Run --> mmc 2.File --> Add/Remove Snap-in 3.Under the Standalone tab, click Add... 4.Choose Group Policy Object Editor 5.In the following wizard, click the Browse button 6.Click the "Computers" tab, select the Another computer radial button, and type the name or Browse to the remote computer 7.Click OK, then Finish, then Close, and finally OK 8.You should now see the Group Policy in the left pane for the remote computer
1.Expand User Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, and then expand System. 2.In the right pane, double-click Don't run specified Windows applications. 3.Click Enabled, and then click Show. 4.Click Add, and then type the executable file name of the program that you want to restrict users from running. For example, type iexplore.exe. 5.Click OK, click OK, and then click OK.
Posted this in another tread, you can try it. Just put the updater.exe in the restricted list of programs
And here I've embraced google completely with my chromebook. Once the twitching stopped it wasn't bad. Now if I could just get rid of the headaches....and the incessant voices. And the debilitating loss of bowel control....
But my chromebook starts up in 7 seconds! pretty good tradeoff...
I tried to update flashplayer a while back on Win 7 Explorer. It wouldnt let me do it unless I installed Google Chrome, with which the new flash player automaticly installed. I just let it go and somewhere along the line it recently updated itself on Explorer.
