This was a great show! This was on Spike TV when it was just another Turner channel--which I like much better. Now this show and others have morphed into infomercials and not actual shows about worknig on automobiles. The show was good since you knew what it was and they didn't try to be anytihng that they couldn't be, They had space and tools that mos tof us have and not a 20,000 sqft garage with all the speical tools.

I miss it too. They filmed it in Knoxville, TN way back then. I met Dave Bowman on a flight home near the end of his part in the show.

Yup, the new shows are .... well... useless and just one big ad (as you said). They are over the top and very generic. They don't go into a lot of detail. I guess they get people to watch, but I gave up a long time ago. I was a dedicated Shadetree Mechanic watcher. I wish I would have recorded the shows.

Have you guys heard of Wheeler Dealers? It is a great show from the UK, where they buy, fix then sell cars. Ive learned alot about buying and selling cars, plus the mechanic is great and fun to watch. It comes of the Velocity channel, if you get that one. Totally recommend it. You can find some episodes on Youtube too.

Wheeler dealers is a cool show. I try to catch it here and there, they've had some great cars on there too!

Sam Memmolo lives in Douglasville. He and his wife are both animal lovers. Good folks.
He sponsors several Cruise-Ins and car shows each year, for the benefit of the Douglas County Humane Society.
His wife (president of the Humane Society) is a very nice lady.

Sam also does a radio show on one of the local AM radio stations. (920 AM) Saturday mornings. I forget the time.

Edit - Here's his web page.

Yup, they have podcasts. He seems to focus a lot on sponsors and trucks. But still entertaining.
