I see it is being reported that Lois Lerner the woman from the IRS who stonewalled congress and the nation on her role in the IRS scandal is now retiring. I am sure she will not be asked again about the use of the IRS' power to withhold status for TEA party and Conservative organizations. Along with this the media has basically forgotten about this scandal and buried it under all of the other day to day garbage. So no one is going to stand up for our Constitutional rights. No one is going to hold those who transgressed our basic freedoms accountable. No wonder our elected officials on the national level have lost our confidence.

So I'm assuming that there will be no tea party for her retirement.

Isn't that the truth? But, it shouldn't be that way here in the US of A. We do have a Constitution even though our professional politicians want to use it for toilet paper or for something to hand on the wall like a trophy. Is anyone ever going to get upset with the erosion of our constitutional rights?

No, many people don't care because because their little screens will keep on glowing...
Common sense has long since flown out the proverbial window.

No because they're on the government dole like food stamps, welfare, and so forth and don't want to upset the free lunch.

I don't think that the tea party, democratic party, republican party or libertarian party should have tax exempt status. I think that only charity contributions should be tax exempt for churches. Income is income.

IRS, such a loved organization!

Especially for those who ever had to deal with any of their "power gone to my head" employees.
And when they become the enforcers of Obama Care, they will be loved even more.

BTW, I heard there are special rules for them as far as not having to testify about going-ons within their work.
IRS employees are well protected, much more than us sub-class citizens.

CIA,IRS,FBI
ALL GOVERMENT AGENCY! they are predominantly staffed by liberals ,recruited from college,The central intelligence agency is one of the most liberal agencies in the USA.only the military arm is right wing.
the CIA GRS even has liberal members ,,remember navy seals start out as sailors
a goverment job offers a lot of security & lefties are attracted to them. The average bureacrat makes a lot more money that most Americans ...
the IRS is a great job ,beaureacrats love to make citizens sweat,,there was a massive illegal effort against the tea party ,,but the democrats control the Press & T.V.news & Senate ,giving them imunity & cover up of thier crimes

CIA EMPLOYEES are mostly bueaucrats ,,what you see in the movies & read in books is complete crap!
most CIA over sea agents gather info & compromize/bribe people to deliver information..
it is the security & military arm that is involved in shoot outs & bold adventure, such as bengazhi,it is dangerous to be an agent ! but they are not running around like in the books & movies
more atheist & red nails in America coffin

What some fail to grasp in this situation is that, if you think there's nothing to see here as far as what the IRS did, eventually another party will control the White House and/or both houses of Congress. If allowed to go unchecked, the controlling administration could then do the same thing to their opponents in the future. Kind if like the Senate voting to get rid of the super majority rule. Eventually it WILL come back to bite the Democrats in the azz and they'll surely be whining about it then. They'll likely then depend on their lack of memory to announce how it's "time for a change" and "time to level the playing field." Completely forgetting that they were the ones who voted it in to allow themselves an easier time to pass what they want.

That makes sense to a reasonable person, but that's not how they think. They actually believe their opponents are few in number and are idiots who have been brainwashed and riled up by Limbaugh and the Koch Brothers. They believe that they will only get MORE power, not less. They can't even conceive of that possibility, nor would they waste their time pondering it even if they could.

And not a single F**K was given.
This is what's wrong with America. We get the government we deserve. The maps may still read "United States of America" but the shining city on the hill is no more.

One thing is for certain - they've buried the bar so deep in the ground that there's nothing any future administration could do that would be unacceptable by their own party, and as the Democrats have shown, what the opposition party things doesn't matter. I look forward to the impotent bleating of Democrats over some future Republican corruption. Whether it's warranted or not, I shall give it no more concern than they have shown towards this lawless administration.

I would simply tell them "Too effing bad." If the IRS told you that, in order to prove your innocence to them, you had to search some vast database and you said it would be too big to search, they would tell you "find it or get fined or jail or both." When are we going to start holding people who are supposed to be serving us and those who work for them, to the same standards they would be so quick to hold us to?

That's great. That would make an interesting discussion.

Until that discussion is held, and the laws change, IRS agents should not be able to us the IRS to selectively target political parties like those in her office did.

They won't have to do the bleating.

The media will do it for them. There will be an incessant drilling of the administration with questions, relevant or not.

So do i. Do i get to be tax exempt too? Bill gates 'does good' and donates a *lot* of money, so how about him too? Not all churches 'do good' and are quite evil. And who's definition of 'good' anyway? Mine? Yours? Joe Bob member of congress who gets paid off? Which religion is good?

Its a double standard.

( i happen to think most churches are evil. They brain wash people and suck their funds under threat of 'gods wrath' like some sort of abusive boyfriend.. )

I should have made that more clear. Lots of churches do charity work and I believe that the part of their income directed toward charity should be tax exempt. Tax them on the rest of it. When I was in Mexico and saw the dirt floor poverty of the populace compared to the wealth of the catholic churches it left me with a bad taste.

They benefit from public services, so they should pay just like everyone else does. I dont care who they are or what they do. That even goes for organizations i support, like animal rescue shelters. No exemptions, no funny business, equal consumption tax for all ( flat rate )

Well until those laws are changed, the IRS agents should not be allowed to selectively discriminate with impunity.

And that is what happened. Why? Obama said he was outraged by it. Yes, that is reflected in his action (inaction) surrounding it.

Where is Eric Holder? Probably the singularly most inept attorney general in history. And that would be saying something. (well, unless you don't want anything done. In which case he is...ept?)

Are you high? You and Bill Gates DO get a tax exemption for your charity. Geez!

(Is it me, or is it him? It's him, isn't it?)
