First of all, I wish I could thank you all personally. I wish I could shake your hands and say "Thank you for showing your support, you have no idea how much I appreciate it!".

I used to email a "Thank you" note to the people who had made a donation, but right now, I don't even have time for that. And that bothers me quite a bit because I don't want to seem ungrateful. Because believe me, I am very thankful for every single donation.

Donations range from just a few dollars to relatively large sums. Some people even apologize for not being able to donate more. Please, don't apologize. I don't care if your donation would be 50 cents only - it shows you appreciate what I'm doing here, and that's a big reward for me in itself. Heck, someone even donated their SS check - if that doesn't touch you, then nothing will.

And even though I currently don't have the time to send all those people who donate an email, that doesn't mean I spend less time on the forum. I'm still here performing daily maintenance, make sure everything is running smoothly. I've just cut down on the posting for now.

Anyway, again a big THANK YOU to all whom have donated. Maybe one of these days I'll finally visit one of the shows in the US and I'll be able to thank you all personally!

Thank YOU Cliff! And yes, you do need to come to a US show. One that I'll be able to attend!

I think we'd be the ones thanking you. Just like you see the masses surrounding Ed Parks, Archie, Rodney, Fiero Warehouse, and all the others!

Thanks Cliff. This is one of my favorite pasttimes. Some read novels, I read the "skitime buildup thread"on PFF. LOL.

I've always planned on making a donation........and planned.....and planned......and planned. It's kinda one of those things that is easy to put off......forever.

Planning is as far as I've gotten. I can't say I've even checked into it to see HOW to make a donation.

I guess I'm saying it's an easy thing to put off...........Perhaps there is some way to gently remind people.....like me.....that a donation wouild be appreciated. I guess it's too easy to ignore or forget. I don't know the solution, but perhaps we should at least explore the options..........

I spend mega hours each week on PFF and have over 8,000 posts. It's very important to me and I would hate life without my exchanges between myself and others here.

I'm going to make a donation NOW....RIGHT NOW.

Cliff..........donating is not easy enough. We need to find a way to make it easier. We need to ask for it......on a consistent basis without being pushy and to somehow do it without everyone knowing it's being done. My opinion.........some type of psychiatric type of subliminal message perhaps.......just a thought. All thoughts and suggestions welcome to me and to Cliff, I'm assuming.

Thanks

Phil

Cliff.......problem number on found. We need to find a way for people to make donations without sending them thru paypal. In fact, they should have quite a number of different ways to make a donation. The should be and not excluded to things like.........MasterCard, Visa.....other credit cards, money order, checks. There should be many other ways not including checks or credit cards. For instance, I am unable to use paypal. It's a long story......but nonetheless I am unable to use paypal. I am one member.......you may have just lost a $1,000 donation just because you don't have alternative means of donating funds. Don't get excited......lol.......I don't have $1,000.
However, this is one problem with the donating system that needs immediate attention. I for just one am unable to make a donation for this reason and will be unable until the donation process is "repaired". You thoughts Cliff?

Hugh who......I appreciate that, but it does nothing to address my other areas of concern, like the ease of donation specifically and how to entice people to donate. Cliff, please respond to my concerns. Thank you.

I did the Pay Pal thing and it was a hassle. It is also worth it, as this has been "some" of the best times I have had lurking before I joined. I have had a Fiero for a while now and only had the confidence to buy one knowing you guys are out there. The car has finally been smoged and expect to be driving it legal for the first time Friday.

At this point in time there are only 2 ways to help Cliff that I know of.Use Paypal or send a check to me and I will forward any money received to Cliff. What could be easier than writing a check or sending a money order.Only the name is different the result will be the same.

I agree. No need for Cliff to have to do more work and pay fees to use MC/Visa.

One could also set up an automatic payment using one's online banking as an alternative to Paypal or MC/Visa. All that is necessary is a name and address. And, Cliff, it is we who should be thanking you.

I use the automatic monthly Pay Pal. My wife understands how important the information, help and advice that I get here. She understands that what we send is far less then what we recieve. Thank you Cliff for hosting this site! Thank you PFF members!

Oh, my goodness. Since Phil died Dec 24th, 2004 this just gets to me. Of course, I have donated before and I plan to do so again. Was something up last night? I had all kinds of difficulty getting on the forum.

Anyway, thanks Cliff.
