Hey everyone! I really want to upgrade the transmission in my car to an F40 6 speed and wonder if anyone out there has one they would be looking to sell. I appreciate it!

I've been considering doing a 6-speed swap in my 3800SC car and this is what I've been looking at.

Car list for F40: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_F40_transmission

Looking at that list there, the easiest thing I can think of for finding these transmissions is the 1.8L Chevy Cruze. I go look on https://www.car-part.com and find a bunch within a few hundred miles.

The F40 from the 2006 - 2007 G6 is the only F40 application with the GM Metric bellhousing. None of the other F40s will bolt to the engines typically found in the Fiero (unless you are swapping in an Ecotec).

How much do you think a good one is worth?

In another thread fieroguru said like $2500-$3000, which is crazy to me. I might just wait until the community figures out parts to swap in the ecotec F40 . With how rare the G6 F40 is either that's going to happen or these swaps won't be a thing anymore real soon.

Eh, here's on in the UK if you can get the guy to ship. He imported it from the U.S to build a kitcar on his Fiero but never used it. Now he's selling it.

There are 3 complete G6/F40 cars all with 150+ K miles for $1500 within 250 miles of Champaign, IL. You could part out portions of the car and probably get the transmission for free.

I'm not so sure that's the correct bolt pattern. And of course, he hasn't posted pics of that side of it.

I bought them for $150 each so I sold them for the exact same. For me its all about keeping our obsessions going, not about making money.
