I plan on doing the 125C -> TH440/4T60 (no E there) transmission swap and hoping there is someone -somewhat- local to me here in North Carolina.

Please let me know if you have one for sale!

Thanks!

That sounds great! Not sure where you are but wondering what costs are for shipping? Isn't there a separate company that handles heavier shipments?

Feel free to PM me the details.

Ty!

depending on where you are I have a core. needs rebuilt but it's a 4t65E HD out of a 2001 grand prix gtp in Washington state, though it sounds like you should hit up a parts yard in Idaho since they have lots of 4t60s
I think it needs a differential since I took the old one out to make some axles work in a project at some point so it's set up to use the smaller splines from a 98 oldsmobile intrigue
before the engine decided to shred every forward clutch in the subaru I had swapped it into

The 4T65 E, or E-HD will not work with the OEM Fiero ECU.

The transmission (both versions) require an OBD2 computer or an aftermarket transmission controller.

Many of the late 80's and early 90's GM six cylinder drivetrains used the 4T60.
It will have both a vacuum modulator and a Throttle Valve cable.

You can buy a 4T60 transmission online from a number of rebuilders but expect to pay $1200 and many rebuilders require a core return, It is a bolt in swap but there are some new electrical connections to be made. Those transmissions were widely used by GM in Chevys, Pontiacs, Buick and Oldsmobiles in the late 80's and early 90's.

What tests can one do on a junkyard trans to check if its good or will need a rebuild/overhaul other than check odometer? Fluids always drained so can't even check the fluid color I believe.
