A few months ago I bought a chip he burned for me. He handled the transaction in a first class manner. When the chip got here it didn't work right, so I got in touch with him to ask if the chip didn't copy correctly. He promptly replied that it was possible and he'd send me another chip. Since then I haven't heard from him. No chip and no answer to four or five PM's. I guess I'm out forty bucks.

He has at times been a bit absent from the forums but have you tried emailing him?

If an engine doesn't run correctly the chip is not necessarily at fault. Did the engine run correctly before you replaced the chip? What was the purpose of changing the program in the chip? What was the expected result? Have you scanned the ECM to find out if all sensors are reading correctly?. Is the timing and fueling within spec? Any codes? What I am getting at is that you need to do a diagnosis of what is going wrong before assuming that the chip is at fault.
Phonedawgz (Timm) is a busy guy but has been a reliable supplier. He's built harnesses for people here, I've used one on a build and it worked out fine. I would try communicating the specifics of the problem to Timm by email to reach a solution but he will probably ask the same questions that I did..

No offence, Dennis is right, but I have to say one thing...the seller should answer or reply.

I don't care if your busy, have 4 kids, own a business, attend church at night, etc, the seller should answer.

Realistically, I get annoyed when somebody doesn't answer me, can't return a simple e-mail, or even reply to a text.
I find that especially lazy and unprofessional. I always answer my texts, emails, phone calls.

Its funny, you always get an answer if you offer money on the table. No money, no funny.

In life, an honest person will stand behind his work...if not, your a coward.

Its not always about money in life. Lesser men normally think so.

Sorry, but its the truth.

I have dealt with Timm numerous times, and very recently. I am sure he will get in touch with you soon as I have no doubt you are wanting to wrap this up and I am sure he has no intentions on leaving you out in the wind.

I don't feel the need to explain the issue to you, Dennis. The problem was fixed by swapping out Timm's chip for a used one which worked fine. He even offered to send a replacement chip months ago through PMs, and since then then I've not heard for him. No response to four or five follow up PMs. Why should I try to email him when he didn't respond to the PMs.

If he contacts me and does what he said he would do I'd be happy to so state that in this thread.

I think Dennis was more referring to contacting by another method other than the forum PM. He has a website, that contains a email address and a phone number (http://www.reddevilriver.com/Contact_Us.html). I hate to sound rude, but you spent the same amount of time posting a forum message as it would have to utilize one of the other contact methods. Now if you have tried both of these already, that becomes a different story.

Then why are you even on a forum where its purpose is the open exchange of ideas and opinions among members? No you don't have to explain anything to me but when you make a charge against a long time member on a public forum, you must substantiate your claim with facts and data of which you have provided none.
