Hi.

Looking for some speakers for the Fiero. All I am interested in are cheap (or free ) speakers that will fit the Fiero and make noise. Not interested in rocking my face off or making earth shattering bass (unless it fits in the cheap or free category), I just want to be able to listen to my audiobooks. I have some stuff to trade if that's your bag, so please ask away if you need something. I just might have it.

Thanks for looking!

I just put these in my Fiero last Fall and couldn't be happier for the price:

Pioneer 4x10's for $55
Kicker 4x6's for $49

Just over $100 for solid sound. You could cut the cost in half and just replace the 4x10's and fade all the sound to the front. They are the far superior speakers compared to 4x6's.

I have to say...if you are going with stock speakers sizes and a stock deck...the best bang for the buck are the replacements from Rodney:

Dual cone. 8 ohm fronts and 4 ohm rears.
OEM is 10 ohms in the front and 4 ohms in the rears.

I appreciate this tip. Just ordered a factory (but not Fiero) GM radio with the aux port alteration. I have never even heard the speakers in my car due to the PO installing an aftermarket radio and amp that I promptly tore out because it didn't work LOL these speakers sound perfect for me and I can't wait to hear my new stereo. If the installed speakers suck, I'll be ordering these

$120 is a good deal for four oddball sized speakers. You probably won't do better.

Another approach might be to invest in the 5.25" adapters ($30, or make your own from the template) as you can buy cheap 5.25" speakers all day and all night. In the back, you can buy 4" adapters from just about anywhere (eg Scosche SA464) and then use cheapo 4" speakers. You'll have $40 or less in adapters, and then you could $30 in two pairs of really bad speakers (Power Acoustik, Sound Storm, etc.). That's $70 for all new speakers, and it wouldn't be a totally wasted investment - you can definitely get some good 5.25" speakers in the future that will do a better job than the 4x10s ever did. Blacktop Racing can provide the front adapters, Sonic Electronix can take the other $40.

$70 is less than $120. Do I win?

Thanks for the replies.

To clarify- I am looking for CHEAP used speakers that are functional. I know I can buy good new ones all day, but my current budgetary restrictions will not allow that to happen. I am trying to get this car on the road quickly and want to get some speakers in now before I have to put the interior back together.

Hi,

I have two nice front speakers that will be excellent for you. I wish I had some rears left. See photo's below and I'll follow up with a PM.

I have two stock front speakers in great condition. I bought Kenwood 4 x 10 and 4 x 6 replacements just because I thought they would make some extraordinary difference. While they do sound good, I was more enamored of getting something new.
Let me know if you want them (free), and I'll send them your way.

I got mine from Amazon. Planet Audio 2-ways. The work very well with my Jensen headunit.
