I am looking for the dummy plug that replaces the distributor on the DIS V6 engines like the early 3.1 or 3.4s.

Thanks,

The newer 3.5s and 3.9s have a similar plug.
I don't know if it's the same or not, but if it is, it will give you a better chance of finding what you need.

Thanks, Steve. There are very few pick n pull salvage yards here so I am hoping someone will have an extra.

I don't need the hex rod to go with this do I. I am just replacing the distributor in a running 3.4 PR. Anyone?

yes you do... its technically the oil pump drive... your cam turns the gear on the plug, that turns the hex rod that the other end of going into your oil pump.. no hex rod, no oil pump.

The GM part number is 01104072. Just pick one up from the dealer brand new or online at any of the online GM wholesale shops.
You should be able to find it for $50.00 or so if you can't find one here

To me it just looks like the lower shaft of the distributer and if you are swapping over from a regular early 80s with a distributer just cut the lower shaft section off and use that.

Have I got to be the only one who thinks outside the box?
