Okay, back in august i bought my 88 fiero formula not running. Put a fuel pump in and the car fired right up and drove amazing. Yes it still had issues like high idle. I’ve fixed all the little problems over the months. I now have a bog after driving 800ft and the car shifts super early.

Here’s a list of what i’ve done. I’m lost at this point. Any sensors or parts that weren’t replaced tested good.

Fuel pump (has adequate fuel pressure while driving… 43psi)
Injectors
IAT
IAC
MAP
Smoke tested (fixed all leaks including EGR tube)
EGR delete
has no catalytic converter
CTS (ECM sensor)
All grounds
No codes on ECM
O2 sensor
Coil is in spec
Pickup coil is in spec
New timing chain and gears (ignition timing reset after)

Any help is much appreciated!

No unfortunately. It revs great in park. In drive, it will shift early, then after about 800ft it will just fall flat on its face and won’t move past idle speed without bog. Super confused as i’ve done everything i can with the car.

I can’t even get it 3 miles to my shop to get it on the lift!

No, it’s something i should definitely do. Fluid is old and losing its color. Doesn’t smell bad though.

Could be a TV cable adjustment issue.

Also could try disconnecting the TCC connector. It might be locking up the converter when it should not be due to a bad pressure switch.

It might be time to verify the timing mark on the balancer. It is know to move, so you could have set the timing correctly to an improperly positioned timing mark.

Of just add 10 degrees advance and take it for a spin to see if there is any difference. If not, put it back. It there is, then check the mark.
