Would changing the throttle position sensor mess with the timing ? My TPS was reading 1.7 volts and the spec says .45plus so I adjusted it there and no change in my situation, I have 2500 RPM on startup and nothing changes after she runs for awhile. I removed the air cleaner and closed off intake with palm of hand and she shuts down immediately. As it runs at 2500 with no air filter I can plug the hole where it draws air for the IAC and she returns to approximately 1000/1100. As soon as I take my finger out of the hole she flys back to 2500. Its a new IAC and did the relearn trick to no avail. Is there any way to test the IAC to see if the pintle is moving out and in?

Plugging the IAC hole should drop the rpms much more than that, to 900 or below. So if it stalls with the throttle body blocked, it likely isn't a major vacuum leak, but it is still rather high with the IAC blocked off but throttle not, then I'd check the throttle stop screw, it should have a cover over it, if not, it might have been messed with before, which would confuse the ECM and raise the idle. If it still has it's cover, then you might have a vacuum leak that is just big enough to cause problems, but small enough to be harder to find.
