Hello Everyone,

I have C4 Rear calilpers installed. But I have never been able to get the parking brake to work correctly. Sucks being a 4 speed manual. A while back, I purchased used C4 calipers but lost sight of them during a move. So when It came time to upgrade the rear brakes, I purchased new ones. Recently, I found the used set and noticed something was missing from my setup.

In the pic you'll notice an extra lever hanging off the caliper. I currently don't have this installed. Is this the missing link to my parking brake working correctly?

Can someone share pic's of thier setup?

Thank you all in advance.

JM

What year are those Corvette calipers for?

I also have Corvette C4 rear brake calipers on my 1987 Fiero GT but they look different than yours. Mine are from the 1995 and newer C4.

Note that Rockauto has good photographs of the calipers they have for sale so, if you look up your calipers there, you should be able to see photos from all sides of the caliper.

Thank you for the reply...

I am not sure what year the calipers on in my pic are. However ... I got my current calipers off RockAuto and they are identical to the ones pictured on the website for a 1996 .
Does your emergancy brakes work on your setup Brian A?

I was immediately interested in your post because my parking brake does NOT work.

I've troubleshooted the whole assembly and it seems to be a problem within the passenger side caliper itself. The regular hydraulic brakes work fine (great actually).

The cables pull the parking brake levers on the calipers to their full extent. The parking brake on the driver's side caliper clamps the rotor appropriately. The passenger's side through, the wheel will still spin despite the parking brake lever fully articulated.

Troubleshooting further would require me removing the passenger side caliper, disassembling and scratching my head. I might just throw another passenger side caliper at the car instead.

Right now, I just live without a parking brake. It's a track car so I shouldn't use the parking brake anyway.
