Hey all, haven't been around in a while. I just got the 3800 SC2 swap 86GT back on the road. It had been sitting for quite a while, and I went through the brakes to make sure the hardware was moving right, and replaced all the pads... and afterwards I have some nice new noisy brakes. I had done the Fierostore Grand Am / Beretta brake upgrade on all four corners years ago, and I don't remember there ever being any anti-rattle springs for those brakes. But I did find one listed at Rockauto, so I ordered up a couple sets. But I can't see where the heck those are supposed to fit...

Anyone familiar with those brakes running any kind of anti-rattle hardware ?

Yeah, I have Grand Am brakes on the front and they will rattle their pads.
I tried various methods to bend the retaining tabs so that the outer pads stay well fixed to the caliper, but the rattle comes back after a while.
I now just live with the noise because it doesn't seem to affect braking performance.
As for the anti-rattle springs, I don't think that they made any on this caliper design?
(RockAuto might have made a mistake in listing these parts?)

You can try using some exhaust rated RTV to stick the outboard pad to the capiler body, and the inboard pad to the piston. That should reduce/eliminate the rattle, unless it is coming from the caliper itself.

Hmm, the high temp stuff might just work. It does seem to be the outboard pad vibrating when there's no clamping force on it,

I figured it out. These BETTER BRAKE PARTS 5416K clips from Rockauto looked familiar, like that might have been a piece that came in the Fierostore kit... that I didn't see how to fit right away, so I tossed them and just sent it. Anyway these do in fact fit the outboard pad on the Grand Am / Beretta setup. I'm not sure why they'd come 4 to a package if they're only supposed to be for the fronts... maybe they also fit the rears. Since the Fiero is all 4 fronts, I had ordered 2 packages. Guess I have spares.
