I started to thread like this a while ago but it has been months and I have lost it I've already replaced the headlight switch and made sure both the relays were working I have to hold my headlight switch right on the halfway spot for the motors to come up if I flick it all the way on and they won't move does anyone know what I could do to fix this I've just recently replaced one of the motors

I tried but I think I may have accidentally wiped it out from my emails and I've never been able to get the search function in the forums to work on my phone

I don't use a phone to access PFF, so I'm just curious... don't hyperlinks show up differently than regular text in a forum post?

Yeah I don't know if I didn't let the page load completely or if I'm just a little stupid but I didn't notice that the text was yellow sorry about that

The 86 Fieros have the Gen 1 headlight system that is trouble prone. Problem could be the control module. If that is the issue no new ones are available but one can be made using a DPDT relay. The gen 1 headlight motors also have internal limit switches that could malfunction and a very flaky gear mechanism that uses internal inserts that deteriorate.

Time to pull out a meter and the wiring diagram and measure some voltages in and out of the switch and isolation relay.

Since you say you replaced a bunch of parts, it could be simply an issue in the wiring. Download a copy of the factory service manual (I gave you the link in one of your other threads). They have a step by step procedure in them for troubleshooting the headlight system.

Lesson learned: test first and then replace parts - not the other way around.
