I was wondering whether you could use 84-87 eibach lowering springs on a 88 formula. Would there be fitment issues or worse handling?

Stock 84-87 front springs will fit in the front of the 88, but you will need to cut them down about 1 1/2 to 2 coils depending on how low you want it. In stock form the 84-87 front springs are longer than the 88 front ones.

Lowering springs also have a stiffer rate, so I would suspect you will need to trim a portion of a coil on the 84-87 front lowering springs to dial in the proper stance on the front of your 88.

The top off the rear springs on the 84-87 is a larger diameter than the top of the 88 rear springs. The bolt pattern for the upper spring perch is also different between the 84-87 and the 88's. 88s went to smaller diamter springs on top due to the location of the strut in the strut tower being different. So the rear lowering springs for an 84-87 are a no-go on the 88s.

This is an 88, with 86 GT front springs, cut by 1.25 coils.
The rear springs are 88 front springs, cut by one coil.
Sorry... don't remember the spring codes.
