Hey all, I have an 84 SE and I recently have had a starter issue I'm trying to track down. Every once in a while I go to start the car and the solenoid will click many times while the starter also spins the motor over. It does not seem to be weather dependent or temperature dependent. It will happen when the car is cold in the morning or randomly after driving to temp. I've jumped the car with my other vehicle to make sure I didn't have low amperage at the battery and it still does it. Should I suspect the solenoid is going bad?

So often the problem turns out to be corroded battery connections at either end of the positive and/or negative battery cables.
