Need help ASAP! Looking for a shop to do a 3800 swap in my 85' 2m4. I live in Washington State and my car has been in Homer, Michigan for 2 1/2 years at 2SeatGarage(Brian Welch). He just called and said he is forced to close his business and has to have his customers get their cars.....I am very frustrated and disappointed, not to mention ALL THE MONEY I put in to ship it there along with half the money up front!!!!!I'm desperate for any info on who can do the swap close to Michigan. It would be a complete waste of time and money to ship a non-running vehicle back to me for thousands of dollars. HELP

Damn, that's a crappy situation. Will the up front money be returned to you... or is it being retained for "storage fees"?

I know it doesn't help, but vehicle transport is pretty inexpensive right now. It should only cost you about $900 to have it shipped. Just throwing that out there... sorry for the situation.
I would post this in the General Section... see if there's anyone in Michigan that is willing to hold a car for you for a couple of weeks...
He has no money. Blaming it on medical issues. No chance I'm getting a dime back...
Well, that definitely sucks.
Not to sound callous, but customers/clients of a shop operator are not responsible for that person's medical bills. Any money paid up front should've only gone towards work that was actually done to the car, nothing else.
I hate seeing people getting burned like this. There's unfortunately a whole history of similar situations posted throughout this forum over the years.

Yeah, it does suck. I've seen this before in so many small businesses. I hope you get it back and everything is OK.

I asked Brian hat condition my car was in and he said he had a cover on it that recently got shredded due to weather, which sounds a bit concerning......He said all the customer vehicles are protected in some way, but how bad is the situation actually if the town says it looks like a junkyard.
