I picked up a blue dingy thingy from an 84 today.
As you may know, it’s slightly different in shape than the later ones which have subtle curved edges. Does the 84 fit all years or just 84’s? Is there any difference between the two?
Thanks, Kit
P.S. I have some pics of it if that helps…

There are a few revisions of "blue dingy thingy", and most are fully compatible with each other BUT
Early units have 7 connectors
Later unit have 8 connectors

PS - I believe the 'missing' connector is for the parking brake

Pin Out
A : Lights ON
B: +12V
C: Key in Ignition
D: Parking Brake
E: Input for Ignition {0V = Ignition OFF / +12V = Ignition ON}
F: Fasten Seat Belt
G: Ground
H: Input for Seat Belt {0V = Seat belt OFF / +12V = Seat belt ON}

BTW: GM calls the box as an "Alarm" for the Chime / Warning Module

Fiero Chimes Are:
Seat Belt, Key in Ignition Switch when the door is open, Head-Parking Lights when the ignition is 'off' and the Parking Brake.

10037040 was the last rev. of the 'alarm' for Chevrolet and Pontiac cars. It fits 15 General Motors vehicles.

10024379 was replaced with 10037040 in 1986
10021724 was replaced with 10024379 in 1984

As a note: 14062570 had one less electrical connector {7 than 8} and was replaced with 10037040 in 1990

Here’s a pic of what I picked up today.
You’re saying there are early and late squared versions of the 84 blue box? Connectors? You’re referring to the flat blades that stick out the bottom of the blue box? Mine have 8. Or, maybe you’re saying only 7 of the 8 pins are used?

Yes, I'm referring to the flat blades that stuck out the bottom of the blue box...

You have the older rev which was replaced with 10037040 in 1986
