I am doing a 3.4 swap and my air cleaner main body "can" is rusted where the rubber tube to the throttle body connects. Its rotted out about halfway around. I was thinking of going ghetto and using a tin can and JB weld to patch it. Welding it is beyond my skill or budget(this stuff is so thin). A used one is like $100+. Any other options? Are there any new ones being made? Any ideas on a fix that won't suck?

I am seriously considering using a tin can or soda can and JB weld and then cover it in electrical tape. I was really hoping maybe there was some obscure McMaster-Carr chunk of pipe fitting I could order for $6 that can be spot welded on or something.

Just my opinion but you can try a tube & sleeve method. I would also go with gorilla tape. Electrical tape while good I don't think would bond well.

The last air filter housings that we did were for the 3800SC swaps. We cut off the metal exit tube where it connects to the throttle body . We then took a short piece of 3" steel tubing and mig welded it where the old exit tube was located. The modifications lasted but the point is that those air filter boxes can be modified and repaired if the overall metal case is good, If you want a good used air filter box send a message to Wayne Renninger, Tom Derr, Larry Hubbert or Mike Valentine. They may have a good used one..
