for the F23 transmission... If i dont use the shifter correction, i've read that i can just use longer cables and this is where my questions lie at.
1) what size cables are needed? 2) for the cables, where do i go to order them? 3) for the cables themselves, what do the ends look like? 4) were the shifter assemblies all the same in the passenger compartment? (the shifter itself) |

1, no idea, I would recommend manually measuring it
2, look up California push pull, they make good cables
3, if you talk to the people at California push pull, just say you want Fiero f23 cables, they know the correct ends, you specify the length, measure, route then where you want, just know the longer they are, the more vague they will feel and the higher the effort, one give benefit if the shift correction kit
4 the assemblies are not all the same, but they all will work for the f23 with some modification for the 4 speed assembly (removing the reverse lockout and rewiring the reverse light switch)
Arrow for 1 is the direction cables are coming from the cabin, straight at the shifter (hole on right side) arrow 2 is the direction the cables are mounted in the factory setup, so to use that, you would have to go all the way around, long long cables with several bends, not great, I also think that the shift function would be reversed (2 4 R on top, 1 3 5 on bottom) with no correction
