so my 87 and 84 need new seals as they both just tore today. where can I find seals that fit? I'm willing to modify them to fit perfectly just need seals that aren't torn at the windows edges I would like to go with brand new ones

The Fiero Store reproduced them years ago... but they sold out pretty quick. They still have the original molds, but it would take a significant number of people willing to go in for them to likely try to get them reproduced again. I'm willing to go in on a group buy... but we'd need to ask them.
Ok, I e-mailed the Fiero Store. It's a HUGE undertaking... and I've not gotten a response back yet, but they would be the best individuals at this point to make it happen. They've done so much for the community that I would not hold it against them if they didn't think the time was right, but I asked, so we'll see what they say.
FYI on The Fiero Store {Matt} view on group buys {or 'crowdsourcing' as he called it} when I attempted to discuss a product:
quote
The Fiero Store {Matt} in Aug 2023: You may have seen on Pennock’s Fiero Forum and other social media outlets, many attempts have been made over the years to ‘crowdsource’ demand for any number of parts. Some have been successful while others have not. History has taught us that ‘crowdsourced’ demand is often inaccurate, temporary, and/or not as reliable as our own proprietary metrics.
So to me, "Good Luck" on your request.......

There seems to be several "vintage molding" firms out there. Perhaps a better approach is to them instead of TFS. They are really just a middle, middle guy.
Here in the North East, dried up rubber is not a big deal so we just need to keep it clean to out live paint. I feel for you guys in the dry sun.
I'm talking to him now... and I do understand the point of crowdsourcing. For many of us, Fiero owners are a frugal bunch, and it's not always that someone who actually wants something, will actually buy something. For me, I'm interested in them staying in business... even if that means they can't produce everything we like.
He did say that eventually they'll have to do something to help keep the cars on the road (in regard to making new ones)... so we'll see. It's clearly the hardest and most expensive one to make.
I'll unabashedly state that I just bought a set off eBay, where the seller didn't know what he said and said "new Fiero GT trunk and hood seals" but I could clearly see in two bags, identical weatherstripping that looked exactly like door weatherstripping. So, we'll see if I got lucky. It was only $100 bucks.

there is. i got a set for my 69 toronado for a hundred bucks and the seals are pretty good quality. though I think they'll need a decent set of fiero ones to make a mold off of. I'll drop their name later once I find the sticker I kept
Have you checked with Soff Seal or OER? Both specialize in aftermarket automotive weather seals. Yes, I know i could have checked their myself rather than post the question here, but I caught this message just before leaving for work

Yeah, there is no one offering these seals. I just checked both, and I also checked Steele Rubber Products earlier. Nothing.
For what it's worth, I'm in for a set for my 84. I'm in for a complete set of weather stripping and rubber seals.
Reach out to the Fiero Store and let them know you're interested. They have their own metrics (which I respect)... but they are the best group slated right now to reproduce these. They did it the first time, and may make new ones... but it's a large expense for them to undertake.
FWIW I have a pair of door seals that I bought on ebay 6 or 7 years ago. They were described as new and look like they had never been installed. I thought they would be NOS OEM as I wasn't aware that the Fiero Store had reproed door seals. I installed one side and did not like the way it looked or fit so I think they may be a pair of repro seals. I found a very nice set of used OEM seals and used Gummi Pflege rubber conditioner before I installed them, they look great and seal good. I do the Gummi Pflege a couple of times a year, and 6 years later they the look the same as when I installed them.

unfortunately that ain't gonna fix the cracked seals and missing chunks. and yeah I can't find any that actually fit properly. what I really wanted for this thread was to see if anyone modified any other gm seals to fit (though having a new run made would be awesome)
I wasn't suggesting that it would fix your existing weatherstrip, the ones on my car were in about the shape you describe. I was just relaying what worked for my car. I found a nice pair of used OEM door weatherstrips, cleaned them with S100 motorcycle cleaner then used the Gummi Pflege to restore them. The end result looks pretty good to me.

isn't that the arteo dash cover? it looks pretty good actually. I was considering the wrap around for my 87 gt to replace my dash with a proper gt saddle one (very expensive but worth it) problem is that I'm in Washington and usually seals don't rot out here except on fieros. for whatever reason they rot like nobodies business from the sun or constant water or get eaten by rats (my gts trunk weatherstripping can tell you first hand)
That is the Pisa Euro Dash with modified armrests. The kit is pretty good but still takes a lot of work to install and get it ready to cover. I am happy with the end result. I had a problem with the wire harness that they supply with their gauge package that showed up a few years years after installation.

I know at one point when I was on my quest for reproducing t top seals, I had a conversation with some folks at Metro seals and they seemed interested in the door seal option since no other place was currently producing them. Someone most likely have to work with them and send one of these companies a good set of door seals to reproduce but with hopefully 100,000 on the road still that number usually provides companies incentive for the R&D to reproduce.

So, I'll caveat first with... the Fiero Store employs like 5 people full time, from what I can tell, plus rental space for the facility (in which they've been in a long time). They do have a lot of long-term goals for the Fiero, and they expressed that, "eventually we'll have to reproduce these to keep the cars on the road." But they also of course have to maintain a bottom line in order to stay in business.
So the results are that they're still planning eventually, but aren't going to put in the investment "just yet." They have their own metrics for determining whether to reproduce them currently or in the near future. What I'll say is, if you're interested in buying them... you can't do it the Millennial or Gen-Z way by sending an e-mail or tagging them on InstaBooks... you have to make a phone call and let them know they're interested (not directed at you, but to anyone reading this). I don't know if they still do telegraphs, so the Boomers may have to use the large buttoned Jitterbug phone.
The good news is that they have the "blanks" so to speak... which are specially made custom gaskets with the measurements, etc... all ready for when they need / want to send them in for reproduction. They have to make a couple of changes to them for improvements, but they are mostly there. The biggest thing is, they need to know that if they're going to make the investment, that they'll get sold, and they record metrics to determine when the best time is to do it.
Personally, I would have no problems dropping $500 for a set of door gaskets. I'd buy two sets for both Fieros. But at different points in my life, there's no way I'd be able to afford such a thing, and it likely wouldn't have been a priority over other things. So that's something to take into consideration.
steele is local to me.if one of you could make a deal with them,i will let them borrow one or both doors to make a pattern, assuming i get free seals.i have two doors i plan to swap the power windows from.

Richard, by any chance... will you have left-over power door lock hardware and wires? If yes, I would be interested in buying what you have...
