AC Switch problems by Gogoman

So as of right I have change both the low and high pressure switch for my V6 fiero. Following the RWDPLS post. I’m having issues with the compression turning on.

I also read on some other forms is does not matter with switching is use in either location, I’ve try connecting both grounds and disconnects them, changing location of the grounds but nothing. I also try to engage the clutch manually by grounding the clutch pressure switch and nothing.

Maybe I’m missing something here but i follow the instructions well and double check the switch before installing them.

This is true, the switches can be installed in either port.

Are you trying to bypass the switch mounted on the accumulator in the front compartment, or the activate the clutch coil on the compressor? Try disconnecting the clutch connector at the compressor and applying 12V to it, the electromagnet should engage the pulley immediately, and disengage when power is removed.

Did you pull a vacuum on the system and recharge with R-134A? What quantity? Refrigerant oil? What are the high and low side gauges reading when the car has been off a while, and the ambient temperature? We just had a thread on basicc pressure diagnostics, which would be the next step after verifying the electrical components.

I bypass the switch mounted on the front and the clutch did not engage. I have done this before so i know how it sounds/works

I pull a vacuum about a week ago and added freon and i check today 7-28-24 and it still holding vacuum so no leaks as of now. It was recharge with R-134 and estor oil. It was working before with no problems but ones I vacuum and added the new switches and Freon no clutch engagement. PS the AC R-134 conversion was done by the previous owners.
