Hello! I need to replacement the solenoid on my 85 SE. I'm pretty sure there was a detailed description on here from someone who had already replaced it, but I can't find it. Anyone have a link to a description of that work??

Here's the best writeup so far. It's only on a web archive since his website is shut down. If you're on a home computer, print it out as PDF so you'll always have a copy.

I don't have time to read page link fully.

⚠️ Warning: Make sure wires go in right way.
Solenoid have a "surge protect" diode often hidden so you can't see & wire backward that will fry first time ECM turns On then Solenoid fry the ECM.

Universal ones are easy to mess up but even "OE" type was sold thru ACDelco w/ all wires attach people still mess up putting pins in the blue plug.

Just found a nice video showing this replacement that was posted in 2023.

I ordered a solenoid, 3rd gear pressure, and gasket from The Fiero Store.
The gasket has 16 holes in it.
The gasket in the video only had 11, which was also the number of bolts.

Guess I'll have to count the bolts on mine before I take it off.
