I don't understand this. Hoping for some help.

86 GT with 3.4 swap and 5 speed Getrag

I was sitting at a stop light. Light turns green and I put it in first gear and release the clutch but the car doesn't move. Tried all gears and reverse and no movement at all. I might have heard a clunk when going into gear but I can't recall exactly. Had it brought home on a flat bed tow.

Looking at it at home I can see that with the engine running, and in both neutral and first gear, the passenger side axle turns (and wobbles) and the drivers side does nothing. I am completely confused.

I may be wrong, but if an inner or outer CV joint on one of you axles is broken, the drive in the transmission is lost, and the car won’t move. Jack the car up, put it in gear, and see if either wheel will turn (Probably with noises) - without the engine running.

exact same thing happened to me. Turned out to be a broken joint inside my CV boot.

I'm with the others. Sounds like a broken axle. Either within one of the boots, or at the hub. Depends upon what part of the axle is turning.
