Hi All, If anyone can let me know what is not connected to the 4 prong plug inside the engine compartment on the battery side, shown in the attached photo, I would really appreciate it. Thank you. reb

I'm not 100% sure of this, but doesn't the harness in the decklid for the electric lock plug into that?

[EDIT] We posted at the same time. You confirmed what I thought about the lock... but where's the light in the decklid? I'm only familiar with the light in the trunk.

[EDIT 2] Okay, you changed your post... the decklid/trunk ajar light switch.

I don't know if it matters, but I forgot to let you all know it's an 88 GT, V-6, 5-Speed. Thank you for your help. I would have never figured that one out. reb

Yes, deck lid wires. Can see other side hanging in same pic.

3 pin for ajar, light, ground
1 pin for powering the release solenoid if has this option. Ground thru latch & strike loop.

⚠️ Unplug & "new car" often mean ajar switch of latch had problems. Common issue "ear" that hits the loop wears & don't work & keep ajar &or truck light On.

If true, the "ear" is pollyprop & glue will not stick. Need more PP "rod" & melt together. Used PP can be used but must be cleaned so no food or grease on it.

⚠️ Soldering tools can easily burn the plastic causing problems. If can adjust temp very low, do so.

New ajar switch. When it's bad, it can blow the fuse.
