That’s why I asked, since my car sat for 29 years I was wondering if I should run some kind of cleaner , not that I need it, but figured it wouldn’t hurt, unless???
It wouldn't hurt to run the proper amount of Lucas fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank for 3 or 4 tanks. It will clean the injectors, the fuel lines and intake valves over a period of time. If you run good quality oil (Valvoline), the lubrication system will also clean up with periodic oil changes. No need to run synthetic oil, but a quart of Lucas Oil Treatment will help the front and rear main seals and slowly dissolve any gunk in the oil system. Use a good quality oil filter (WIX) and change the oil every 3000 miles for the first couple of oil changes, then go to every 5000 miles.
Its good for when there is a lot of carbon deposits in your engine, but I wouldnt keep it in the oil for more then a couple hundred miles. I think most people go one tank of gas of hard driving with it before changing the oil. The nice thing about seafoam is that it can be used in the oil and gas tank.
IDK for me Ill use Sea Foam Spray for use on a high mile engine while its running. You spray it into the intake while running at 1500 RPM. The cat has to be removed at this time or you will just clog it. I have had it drop a car 200 NOX points on the emissions. Running it in the oil i would not. Running as a Fuel stabilizer meh maybe. running it as a cleaner meh maybe. Id not expect magic results from it in the gas. Sea Foam is sold as a swiss army knife with a fold out hammer... Just buy a hammer. Its all mostly snake oil anyway.
If your engine is well taken care of, you probably wont have any benefit of using seafoam. If it is not however, you may get some results from it, and its one of those "why not" moments. See project farms video on it to see some positive results from using it.
For why people dont recommend it, is because it can clog up your cat, which is why I used it straight piped. Also one of my friends with a miata used it, and his car dieseled for a couple seconds while spraying it, so be wary of that.

For what it's worth.... Seafoam and many other engine cleaners are solvent based. There are detergent based cleaners that are 'cat' friendly and less harmful to injector seals and other components. Berryman products come to mind.
Is SeaFoam bad for the injectors or anything else in our old cars ?
I've heard too many bad things about Seafoam. I have been using Purple additive in my tank (1986 GT) and have had no issues for a few years now. Scotty Kilmore recommends it.

I believe the best way to clean injectors on the car is to use an injector cleaning kit. One that attaches a pressurized can filled with professional grade injector cleaner to the fuel rail. You pull the fuel pump fuse, apply air set for 43 psi of pressure and run the can of cleaner through the injectors until finished. Some of the in-tank cleaners are not bad but they take a while to work. As for Kilmers and many other advise provided on You Tube they are paid endorsements. The products could contain piss and the spokesperson would say this will make you car like new again.

The BEST way to clean injectors is to remove them and put them in an ultrasonic bath for 30min-1hr and flow test them before and after. There are many services that can to this, you can ship them out if you dont have anybody locally. Usually about $25per injector.

You prefer Lucas over competitors like Berrymans'? They claim that Berrymans B12 is good for both cleaning your fuel system and injectors, so I was planning on running that in the Formula you were answering my questions about.
