My 2.5 auto that sat for 20 years, will not idle when the outside air is hot. So on a 60 degree day, you can start it and drive it for a hour no problem. But as soon as you shut it off and then turn it back on, it cannot idle. Already replaced MAP sensor, fuel pump, and other stuff too. In the cold air and if its the first time you ran it that day, it idles just fine. Could it be a vacuum leak?

try See my Cave, ECM Heat
If that helps, vary likely ECM need replacement. Save the PROM to go into new ECM.

Otherwise can be a lot of things getting hot.

So I replaced the iac, and now it idles wayy to high, like 2000 rpm. There are instructions on how to reset the iac. Do I do that?

I can't even put it into drive without hurting my trans the idle is so high, do I just manually adjust the iac so it can drive and let the ecm do the rest of the work?
