Hi everyone, i'm trying to separate my 2.8 engine from the trans for a 3.4 swap but it seems to be stuck. I have the 6 bolts removed from the bellhousing (including the one that threads in from the passenger side) and the lower shield. It will not budge at all. Engine and trans are both supported and i'm pulling directly away from trans. Before I break something, is there anything else that would be holding these together?

Thanks in advance!
Jake

I just did this and mine was stuck too. If i had a rubber mallet handy probably could have helped. I had the engine suspended and tapped a large screwdriver against the block wit a large hammer. There are notches in the trans that expose the block. After a bit it finally started backing out then i was able to get a driver between the 2 and work them apart.

Thanks for the input guys, i've got it apart now. It took much more brute force than expected and a BFH. I used a block of wood and a 2 lb sledge, giving it a few solid whacks on each side until it started moving.
