I write this today for ask you what is your fuel consumption ?
Mine with the 2.8 GT motor I have 14 liters for 100 km

That translates to 17 Miles per Gallon here in the USA. Not so good.

I can average about 10 liters per 100 km.

14 L/100 km (mixed city/highway/short trips) is in the ballpark of what I got with a stock 2.8 Fiero with a 5-speed standard transmission.

Depends also on the season. Fuel economy is less good when it's cold, due to idling while scraping the windows clean of ice, and cold enrichment during the engine's warmup.

Also depends on how you drive. While testing/tuning my turbo Fiero, I've reached 25-30 L/100km, more or less flooring the gas pedal at every street corner, and sitting in parking lots idling.

Best ever highway economy was around 8 L/100 km (stock Fiero).

Originally, I got 20 city and 28 highway with my 85 SE V6 4 speed (8.5 and 12 KPL) Now with a 3.4 F-body block and Getrag 5 speed I get 19 city but 30 highway (8 and 12.8 KPL)

Years ago (1988) R&T compared the 88 Formula to a MR2 SC and one of the number of things I thought they were outright lying about was the MPG; They got only 17 for the Fiero........I could not even conceive of how you could get that low with a properly running 2.8! Driving only city, just 3 miles to work and 3 back, while ripping thru any twisties I could find, I was still getting 20-22 mpg....Maybe if all they did was do quarter mile runs they could get that low....

Might also depend on local fuel supply. Here in California most stations have different blends for "summer" and "winter", one having more alcohol or other additives which can affect economy. (No idea what you get there, never mind how the octane ratings compare

Also for cars this old the transmission type can have an effect, ie the automatics prolly do worse than the stick.

Mine was doing about 17L per 100km when I bought it, even though I drive like an old lady. But, that was driving around town only, with the aircon on in California summer, and as I recently discovered, with the parking brake dragging badly I'm hoping that will materiall improve now that the brakes are only stopping the car when I use the pedal

Point is that there's a lot of variables, so don't assume any one number is absolute. Make sure your car runs well (and the parking brake is adjusted properly!) and then enjoy it.

...which means nothing without more information.

A long leisurely drive on the highway with a fully warmed up engine will provide good gas mileage.

Short hops here and there with the engine never reaching operating temperature will provide terrible gas mileage.

Actual Octane is about the same in other countries as US but only RON number is "advertise" that's make people think is Higher.

Stock Fiero should have ~ 91 RON gas minimum in EU Japan etc. Running higher octane can hurt consumption.

Yes, How and Where you drive affects Fuel Consumption and the exact formula of gas too.
You need "Pure Gas" to "E10" = 10% Ethanol or less for most vehicles not made to handle "Flex Fuel." FF Vehicles can run straight gas to E85 and have sensors to adjust timing etc to handle whatever ethanol in the tank. (⚠️ Running "RV" or Marine dyed gas in street vehicles is illegal in many places because of Taxes.)

The "best" MPG/KPL happens on the Highway on fairly level ground at constant speeds ~ 55 - 65 MPH. In the right conditions you might actually see or beat advertise EPA etc MPG rating here but only on a long trip w/ no traffic problems.
The "worse" is "around town" or stuck in slow traffic on a highway because Both can make you stop and shift a lot. Auto Trans can't lock the TC making worse MPG in these cases but Stick cars w/ most drivers aren't much better.

Older EPA MPG rating and related for "city" and "highway" driving are a wet dream at best at some lab/factory for 99+% of cars. After EPA and others charge some rules to get a rating in 2008 and again in 2017. IOW you can't compare older MPG ratings for most 2016 and back cars w/ new cars w/o help because old pre 17 and very old pre 08 ratings was worse.
Even new rules and advertising for MPG ignore E85 because any vehicle using that will Never see the rating numbers.

Many should see close to the Combined number at best even if you drive on the highway. More so if you use new rating...

My black '86GT with 123,540-km & no modifications averages 10.2 litres/100 km on combined city-country (predominately country). On a trip at 105 kph without AC, I get around 8.7 litres/100 km. With the AC on, I get around 9 litres/100 km. My silver '86GT with 171,000-km & no EGR valve averages 10.5 litres/100 km on combined city-country (predominately country). On a trip at 105 kph without AC, I get around 9.2 litres/100 km. With the AC on, I get around 10 litres/100 km. Neither car has a wing.
