1984 Fiero Base SE, the rear lights stay on, the hazard lights come on but don't blink, I replaced the fuse but nothing changed. When I detach or attach the battery cable I hear a clicking noise. Any ideas? Please try and be detailed about any solutions you come up with. Thanks.
In the 1984 Fiero, are they the two black boxes on firewall (inside the engine compartment) behind the driver's seat? Can they be cleaned or do they need to be replaced?
Do you think the brake light switch under the brake pedal might be the cause of it, if it is stuck?

Those should be the Fuel pump relay and AC if you got it.
To check the switch, unplug the switch and listen for the clicking noise you hear when disconnecting the battery.
When I get home from work I will check the location of the brake relay for you. I can hear it click behind my head somewhere when the car is off.
84 stop/turn have 2 relays controlling 1 bulb each. Relays are Not the problem here. Hazard Does Not work on purpose when rear stop/turn bulbs are on. Most to All vehicles w/ Red only taillight are make this way from the factory so brakes have priority. So likely Hazard isn't a problem either.
Likely Brake light Switch on pedal or Blinker switch in the column are "bad." Unplug pedal switch w/ orange and white wires. If off the switch is bad, switch adjustment moved, or pedal have problems. Still On then something in blinker switch or wires to it is wrong.
Note: 2 Bulbs controlled by relays get power thru csty fuse. pull that fuse will turn off but relay's will still make noise because coil is on taillight circuit.

This is what I tried. I found the brake light switch above the pedal, and I was going to detach the wires to it first, but there was another block above it with two black connectors, I pulled one of those and the rear tail lights (all four bulbs) went out. Turned on and tested everything, everything works . . . rear lights (2 outside bulbs), hazard, backup, stop, turn signals, markers. The rear (red) lights in the middle don't come on now . . . except when I push the brake pedal.
So, what exactly did I pull? And, as important . . do I need it?
