I'm planning on replacing my dew wipes. I found a great video on youtube for that. I need to change my felt guide as it is scratching my window. I don't like the idea of cutting my car to replace them. (as suggested in another video). It does look like a short term quick fix. But i'm ok with a little more work, (like maybe removing the window) so that I can avoid cutting the car. Does anyone have any helpful alternative suggestions? Preferably with step by step how to instructions, assuming I've got the inner door skin removed and the dew wipes off.

There is no need to cut anything as they simply unbolt from the door.

Sorry to jump in- I need to do this AND replace my scratched window at the same time. I assume it is easier to change the dew wipes if the window is also being replaced at the same time? I can't find instructions on changing the window glass- hopefully it is straightfoward?

You will need to take the door panel off on both sides to remove the glass for sure. Once you have those off you will have a better idea of what needs to take place from there.

It can be done without taking the outside panel off - it is just way easier if you take them both off (easier to drill out the rivets from the outside).

edit: yes it is easier to replace the dew wipes and guides if the glass is removed - if not changing the glass I wouldn't remove it as it is a lot more work.

When you replace outer dew wipes then very likely you have other problems w/ the window and while pulling outer skin is a pain... easier to fix the other problem at same time.
Example:
Some Rivets wear over time and allow the track parts and window itself to move all over and bind up. I replace them w/ bolts and nuts w/ lock washers. If bolt heads etc are small use flat washers too.
Loctite or nyloc nuts doesn't maintain tightness as parts heat and cool because too many materials and work loose again even tho have lock threads.
Tighten just enough to hold but not to damage plastic parts holding glass. Nut drivers or ¼" drive sockets are good here and tighten finger tight. Wrench are ok but only use near or at the head.

That video has the very 'fix' I am trying to avoid. He slices in to the door to remove the felt guides. It is a quick easy fix. But my concern is over time, the part of the door that needs the strength, to support the weight of the windows, will weaken and bend. I was hoping for something that didn't reduce the structural integrity.
It looks like removing both the inner and outer door skin/covers is my only alternative solution? I haven't removed exterior body panels yet. All of my rivets are original and some how miraculously very secure and in good shape. Is this difficult to re- rivet? Will I need some sort of re-riveting tool?

Do Not follow this Video! Or even most others claiming you need a "special tool" that Rodney etc sells. You can get or make a low clearance #2 Phillips very easy and you Do Not need cutting the door like this.

I won't even bother using any offset tools to get the outer screws.
Why? Again... Often the rivets holding window and regulator, regulator is entire machine make window to move, are bad. Not just Fiero have this same problem and often only after 10 years or less. Fiero is far easier then nearly all others Because to outer skin is easy to remove. Inner felts often don't go bad because only contact the glass part of the time and doesn't get trash like outer felts.

If you pull the outer skin then just carefully remove two rivets holding glass to track to get at all points for outer dew wipe and inner felts with normal tools.
Replace the rivets w/ small bolts as I posted above.

Outer dew wipe screws have holes in the inner wipe mounting surface to install the screws at GM.

Best is drill/grind the rivet and replace one at a time to prevent loosing parts or adjustment for the regulator.

Only remove 2 rivets for window itself to the track so you can move the window.
Or remove all window rivets so can remove the entire window to work on everything else. Window comes out same way it went in... thru the top slot.

You could get new rivets and tool from HF etc but you likely only use it 1 time. Not sure if HF heavy duty kit have right size of rivets for all spots.

Note: Outer Skin T30 screws get rusty. carefully pry the edge of plastic on the screw to spray the "nut" w/ PB Blaster etc a day or three before you work.
ETA--> don't spray a lot of oil. Most will run down and be a real mess, often a smelly mess too. Too much will damage the skin too.
