Hello. I am trying to figure out if there is a 1987 2.5L Iron Duke OBDI ALDL scanner out there. I know phonedawgz had one for the 84-86, but I am unsure if he had one for an 87. As far as I know, nothing has come up. Let me know if anyone has any leads.
I tried two of the folks that make the scanners and neither of them worked. John Wales worked with me for a month modifying the software and was unsuccessful. The communication protocol that GM used for the '87 & '88 is non-standard and that makes proper communication impossible. The result is that the information obtained is extremely unstable and unreadable. I eventually bought a Snapon MT 2500 off of eBay. It works just fine but is a lot more expensive the android apk types.
