Fellas,
Where can I get help in routing my wiring on my remote trunk release solenoid? I own a ‘85 SE 5-speed Duke. It came stock with the internally mounted dash, remote operated, trunk release solenoid. I had to purchase another deck lid. This other deck lid did not have this particular feature. I already moved over the solenoid trunk latch. I need to know how to push (or drag?) the stock wiring onto my donor deck lid? I obviously also need to know which, and where to find, the hot wire that I need to tap into, to get the power to the hood latch mechanism?
I tried going into Pennock’s ‘Search’ feature, but could not find anything?
Cordially,
kevin
Ps. I could not find anything on YouTube.

Should be a one wire plug near the drivers side hinge. It connects to the latch mechanism and in grounds to the latch when closed. To test the wiring, run a ground wire from the body of the solenoid to the latch. I actually ran a permanent ground wire so something (a plastic bag) couldn't block the latch from grounding the circuit.

Fellas,
I would REALY appreciate it some great Fiero owner could take a picture of the wiring for me? Or, I would enjoy learning from a YouTube video on how to re-write my trunk lock mechanism. I really feel that someone can assist me.

Kevin,

Here is a picture of my connector on the driver's side hinge. It is a black wire with a white stripe. The wire on the hinge bolt is the ground run back to the hinge from the solenoid mount bolt. Your trunk may already have a wire in it.
