I put a set of these Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires on my C5 a couple of months ago. The Fiero's are in good shape at the moment but I think I am going to put a set of these on it when it is due.
Did a quick review to share.

Cool review.

I do agree. I purchased a set for my GT last year, and they are everything as advertised.

My take. I am a driver. It is my passion.

I had Summer Nitto's beforehand. These Firestones are miles above in grip, ride, and all around "tireability".

The grip level is absolutely impressive. I have taken them past their limits, and they just perform.

The ride is really nice. Less road noise, smoother feel, and all around confidence.

I am getting early wear. I could use an alignment. I would purchase again.

I will disagree about the cold. I somewhat daily my 1987 GT, and it has gotten just to freezing as of late. At 40* plus I am feeling good. Below that and it is a white knuckle ride. Even for my mildly modified 3.1. I need to go through a mountain pass daily and I definitely need to slow way down. I drove her a bit last winter, and the colder it gets, and the traction absolutely disappears. Tire pressure adjustments have no effect.

It is ironic that tire sizes have left cars like the Fiero behind - nothing available in a reasonable performance tire unless you change rims to larger diameter. The very best of summer hipo tires like the Michelin PSS don't come in anything under 17" and the other tires I run on my cars, the Goodrich G-force Sport Comp 2 only come in 195 15s (though they have sizes that will work at 17"

Even worse with my old British cars with marrow 15s.

Too bad someone doesn't make a stock looking 17" or 18" rim for the Fiero, as I do like the look of the stock rims.

Sumitomo HTR P02 AS are the best all season tire if you want to use the stock 15" wheels. Price is as cheap as it gets.

General makes a great, low priced performance tire also.

What type of tires did you use on your Fiero to run 11.85?

I lucked out when I found some VOXX Monzas that look like a higher-quality Fiero GT wheel in a 16 x 7 size...And they only weigh 13 lbs each! When I swapped over from 15 x 7 eagle wheels and 215/60-15 and 225/60-15 to 205/55-16 and 225/55-16 General AS-03 Gmax tires, I dropped 3 lbs off each rear and 6 lbs off each front...It was like a whole new car....Sadly, VOXX stopped making the Monzas.

General has come out with a new AS-05 updated all-season tire....The AS-03s were a great tire, and I am about to order the new version from the Tire rack. (I made the mistake of going with "Better" BFG tires but they were 2 lbs and 4 lbs heavier...I can feel the difference....So I have been drifting thru off/on-ramps as much as possible- just about have 'em wore down!)(You can see how heavy a tire is by clicking on the compare feature on Tirerack)

Weight(Un-sprung and rotational) does make a noticeable difference. Take 10 lbs off wheel/tire combo at each corner and it is basically like removing 200 lbs from the car.....
