Well, it's about that time. The motor blew on the 85 GT. Buddy did an oil change for me, and he "thought I was on full synthetic". Motor blew the next day. So, I'm getting geared up for a 3800 SC. Found a 2002 GTP. Im going to pull the motor, and by my understanding all of its accessories.
I know I need a '96 and up F Body flywheel, machined to .840", and balanced to the 3800's flex-plate. My question here is... Which clutch do I use? Ive read conflicting answers. Ive heard I need a "stronger fiero clutch". Have heard I need a camaro pressure plate and stronger fiero clutch disk... Just need a part number for what Id need... And why that option vs other suggestions.

Can my transmission hold this power? Or do I find a replacement?
Ive heard I need an 88's cradle but have seen it done on the 85's so any ideas? Id rather not buy a new cradle. I know what Im walking into by doing this, but I want to make sure I get it right. I have two weeks to get it done, and any advice would be helpful. Ive read other forums on the swap, but all seem to be missing components, so Im going to make a very detailed guide just to have. Because after this Ill have the funds for my LS3 swap in the other Fiero

And also, is an inline fuel pump suggestible for the 3800? Im going to redo the cams and some other bits of the motor before it goes in so I know I can get the Walbro 255 if its not a good idea to go in-line.

My other big thing is Ill be paying somebody to weld mounts onto the cradle and car due to my lack of a welder (and I suck with one) , so how would I go about determining where the mounts would go for him to weld them?

Switching to full synthetic does not blow engines...........forgetting to add oil would do it.

Well. Im not sure on the details because he did it for me while I was at work. Usually I dont let people work on my cars but... Who can **** up an oil change... Now theres a whole in the block behind the starter. I checked the oil levels and to make sure he put the filter on right. I have no leaks... Had no leaks haha. Regardless, its done now.

I would recommend a SPEC 3+ for a new clutch. It can hold the torque (should be around 300 ft lbs IIRC) and is very "streetable". Some clutches such as the McLeod are exceptionally grabby or on/off types and can make street driving miserable in traffic. WRT the fuel pump, I am using a DW 200 inside the tank and am very satisfies with the results. BTW, my Series II SC engine is totally stock except for a 3.4" pulley and larger intake/exhaust setups and has a very conservative tune but still delivers around 258 hp to the wheels IIRC.
