Has anyone tried to plasti-dip their tail lights to hide the delamination and the fogging? My buddy did it do his new ram truck and it looks good and still shows nice and bright. It can peel right off to if you dont want it anymore. Was just curious.

That seems counterproductive.. the dip would certainly dim the lights some.. Are you counting on it being opaque? What color?

I beleive an individual here used paint to cover the delamination. Do a search, maybe that will give you an idea of what you want to do.

Maybe stating the obvious here.... but at $5 a can for plasti dip, and as you said, it just peels right offf. You have already seen it on a friends truck, and say it looks great... why not just give it a try and see how it turns out?

I’ve PD my tail lights to have the nightshade effect then the popo told me no go. So I peeled it off and had the delamination to deal with, I did what others do when painting over the delam part of the tail light except I used PD it worked great!

On a similar note, this might hide some bad crazing on GT fastback windows too. Too bad the shine wouldn't be there.

Look up NiteShade. Designed for tail lights. I did some on mine a few months ago but my moronic brain put on a coat of clear coat on it and it looked all patchy and stuff. I ended up taking it all off. I think in the spring I'll try again.

They sell a compatible "Glossifier" product that might do what you want. I have no experience with it myself.

My tail lights are perfect, no delam, but I like the look of smoked out lights. I think I did a thread on here when I did it... I think like 5 coats of smoke, 1 very light coat of black, and a few of the glossifier.
