No, I for one never thought I would be asking this question of the community.

The instrument cluster lights (illumination) flash with the turn signal. However, with the park lights energized the issue is not there. All is normal.

I'm thinking I have lost a ground somewhere but where.

A little help with suggestions will be appreciated before I pull out what little hair I have left.

Thank in advance.

The front parking light bulbs are double filament, and sometimes fail by the two filaments touching......making a new ground route. Change both those bulbs and I think you will be fixed.

The Ogre's cave has a lot of info on this. Go to ELECTRICAL/GENERAL/SNEAK PATH

LEDs can be tricky, check the Ogre's cave for that page too.

Thanks for all the responses and suggestions.

Can eliminate a couple:
1. Not the rear taillight grounds. All ground connections were replaced a couple years ago when I replaced the taillight unit.

2. Don't think it's an LED issues either. All lamps in the car with the exception of the headlights are LESs and have been for years with no issues.

See my Cave, Sneak Path and Lighbulbs
iffy sockets won't help and is a very common problem.

I guess you mean See my Cave, LED poisoning and LED Marker Light but may not solve the problem.

Some use "Ballast" resistors and still have problem depending on LED used. Could be LEDs are have problems too.
If you have them then read poisoning page. They get hot and can easily melt itself or plastic near them when mounted wrong.

I have had issues where a bad front signal bulb socket caused the turn indicator lamp on the inst panel to come on with the parking lights.. and it was a bad socket, just like Ogre said. And the new replacement socket was bad too.
But you said that the instrument lights light up. You seem to imply that the background lamps are lighting up. That is a whole different circuit, which would indicate a short between the two somewhere.
Is that what you meant? The dimmable background lights on the panel?
I have some data on troubleshooting turn signals that might be of value, but does not belong here, so will start another thread.

Posting so we can close out this thread.

I have finally resolved my electrical issues with the flashing instrument cluster and lack of front side market lights. As it turns out the cause was the front turn signal bulbs being LEDs. After testing all the possibilities (that I was aware of) I replaced the left front turn signal lamp with a filament type lamp. Problem solved for the left side. Did the same for the right side.

As mentioned by Orge and others regarding the sneak ground path issues and the very nature of the Fiero wiring for the front marker and turn signals. Guess that was I told you so moment!

I will be working on a fix for this as I would prefer to have LED lamps for my front turn signals as they are much brighter, less heat and amp consumption.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions.
