I have some oil drops under my 1986 Fiero GT. I think it is the oil pan gasket. Is it safe to use Blue Devil Oil Stop Leak to try and get it to stop or am I risking causing more damage then it's worth?

Check your pan bolts first.

And check around your distributor and make sure it's not leaking at the Oring. I would NEVER EVER use stop leak anything unless it was a dire emergency. And even then it probably wouldn't be wise

I would only use Oil Stop Leak in an engine that is on its last legs. I've used it once and it worked but it was on a car that was soon disposed of. You could say it was safe as the engine ran for a few thousands of miles afterwards but putting something in an engine that is essentially a compound to make the gaskets swell is IMO not a good idea.

Try running "high ,mileage" oil, it has a small amount of seal conditioners, not as harsh as the oil stop leak products.
Castrol semi synthetic has worked for me on cars before.
But also yeah. Valvecover, oil pan bolts and distributor base o ring can leak.

Thank you everyone! I ended up taking it to a shop. They put it on the lift so I could check it out. I found out the oil pan was dented on the side most likely compromising the seal. Just to be safe I am going to have them replace the seal, pan and valve stems. The car only has 52k miles and hope to keep it on the road for some time to come.

While on the lift I noticed the shocks were leaking and my ball joint needs replace but that will be a battle for another day!
